Episode Notes
Good morning, sir.
Good morning, Les. How are you?
I'm doing super. Today is an awesome day. I've got a lot of things planned. What about you?
Uh, today is an awesome day. I have nothing planned.
Okay. So, let me ask you the hard question. What are you going to do today?
Uh, read a book.
Okay.
Take a nap. Okay. Cook okonomyaki.
Oh.
And watch a movie.
What movie are you going to watch now? I'm curious.
Uh, probably a movie called 16 Blocks.
I can't say that I've heard it.
It's a Bruce Willis movie. It's um he's a police officer protecting someone. And he has to he has to help the person to go 16 blocks through the city.
Okay. Wait a minute. Let me ask a couple questions.
Is it a new Bruce Willis or an old movie?
It was probably made about 15 years ago around 2010.
Okay, I understand.
All right. Now I got
Is he a bodyguard in the movie.
He's acting as a bodyguard, but he's a police officer.
Okay. And
tired tired old grumpy police officer.
Okay.
And it's it's a police action movie, but it's a comedy.
Really?
Yes. It's very very funny because of the interaction between him and the man he's protecting.
Okay.
It's very their interaction is very very funny.
Okay. Now, where are you going to watch this?
I'm going to watch it in my living room with my kids either on uh a computer screen or maybe using our projector.
I guess my question is kind of a hard going to ask, are you going to watch it from a DVD or are you going to watch it from Amazon Prime or what?
Uh streaming.
Okay.
Yes. I I don't know whether it's Amazon Prime or Disney Plus or Netflix, but we'll find it. And uh yeah, streaming
have subscriptions to all three.
Yes. Wow. I'm impressed.
Um, Amazon Prime is 500 yen per month.
Yes,
we have it anyway for deliveries and ordering Amazon goods,
right?
Um, so that's kind of doesn't mean anything. Netflix, um, we've had for a long time, so we have the cheaper price. Every year they put the price up.
Okay.
But if you had it, if you continue the same contract, then the price stays the same. So, it's only 9.80 per month.
Okay.
And then Disney Plus is cheaper if you get a year.
Okay. Yes.
And also, we have the old price and I I think it's only our second year with uh
and it's under 10,000 yen per year.
Sure. Sure. But we don't have a TV.
I don't have a TV either.
So, we don't pay TV fees. We don't pay NHK,
right?
We didn't say anything. Um, but you don't have a TV. Uh, no. I was going to add uh Disney Plus.
Yeah.
Every family that I found that has Disney Plus, their children speak better. English.
Uhhuh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
It's just Disney Plus has an amazing positive influence on children's English.
Two good points about that. Number one, everyone loves Disney movies.
Yeah.
So, people watch them with their kids. Kids watch them by themselves. Number two, Disney has a lot of musicals.
Okay.
Musicals people don't like watching dubbed. They want to watch the original English version.
So, a lot of people enjoy musicals through their Disney Plus subscription.
Yeah, I I almost want to get a Disney Plus subscription myself, but I don't have enough time.
Understood.
Speaking of not enough time, it's time for my nap. I believe
it's time for me to get on to using my time in another way. Okay. Thank Thanks a lot. Bye-bye. See you.
