The Dealer

by Suela
(Brazil)

Living in that shantytown was the last thing that Rose wanted, but she had no option. She had to come along with her husband, since she could not raise their children without a job. Because of drugs, her husband had messed with dangerous people, and now they had no money to pay a decent place to live. The police had let him off for while, but if he was taken with drugs again, he would be rusted away in the jail. Because of their children she was trying to patch up their relationship. She had gotten a job as a maid in a fancy house and was happy again. Everything was going well again, until she discovered that the owner of the house was the dealer that had involved her husband with drugs.

Here is my edited version:

The police had let him off for while, but if he was taken with drugs again, he would be rusting away in the jail.

Because of their children she was trying to patch up their relationship. She had gotten a job as a maid in a fancy house and
