Are Phrasal Verbs
Difficult to Hear?
Practice by Listening to Stories!

My students told me that phrasal verbs are difficult to hear and understand. I made stories so they can practice listening to them easily through the stories. I've made lots of stories so your English listening practice is easy!

I have studied another language.  I know it is difficult to hear some expressions. Here are a few ideas for learning them.

The first step is to read the expression, and think about the meaning. Then listen to the story.  You may have to listen two or three times.

After that, take a break for a day.  Listen again.  If you continue to listen and think about the meaning everyday, you will gradually make a meaning for the expression.

That is great.  If you have a language teacher, try to use the phrasal verb speaking with them.  If you don't have a teacher, then send me a message in the comments page here (make clear you have a question about phrasal verbs).  Write your sentence and ask me if it is ok.  I can e-mail you with a response.

Listening to stories works.  My students practiced listening to my stories and now they understand these verbs. You can study them on the pages below. Practice makes perfect!  Listen many times.

Here is (again) how you can study:

1. You can read the verbs.

2. You can study their meanings.

3. You can listen to them in the stories.

4. You can hear how they are used.

5. You can read the stories after.
