You can.  It is important to listen many times to the English story.  It is even more important to take breaks between study sessions.

Do not study for more than 20 or 30 minutes.  Then take a break. After you break, study something different, like reading, or writing, or speaking.

If you can come back to listen to this story you will remember the idioms better.

The Sedlaks used to live in a house that was falling to bits, and Georgi and Anna felt and looked like two peas in a pod in that house.  But they were a bit unusual, and they sold they farm and started an internet business.  Now they are rolling in money, and they can act as unusual as they like.  Georgi thinks his accordion suits him down to the ground, and his wife is the belle of the ball in his mind even though she has put on weight.  They may be unusual, but they are certainly very happy together.
