How to Learn English Fast![]() There are two ways to learn English fast; I call them 1) Real Immersion and 2)Imaginary Immersion. I can point out a few things about real immersion. Then I will give pointers for making your own Imaginary Immersion. 1. Real ImmersionMove to an English speaking country. Get a job. Work with English speakers every day. this is the fastest way to learn English.If you also go to an English school at the same time, you will learn even faster. Working with people demands that you communicate with them. If they only speak English you must use English. English becomes a tool to help you do your job. Your English skills will improve fastest. You might have problems and conflict as you work. This is good. the best way to improve your communication skills is by solving problems. Problems become your friend. 2. Imaginary ImmersionReal Immersion might be too difficult for you. In that case, try imaginary immersion. Put as much English into your life as possible.Around your home, use English radio, and English television. Visit only English sites on the internet. Get lots of English books and magazines. Make friends with foreigners who speak your language very poorly. You must find what interests them and make that your interest so you will have something in common. Find the places where English speakers visit in your community and go there. What you want to do is to create an English environment. This is easier today with the internet. You have access to abundant English on the internet. If you really put your heart into it, and practice everyday, you can learn English fast!! There are sites for speaking practice, and sites like this one for listening practice. Listening is very important. If you can hear the words and understand them, you will find it easier to use them. You must also start to talk to yourself in English. I still talk to myself in Japanese even though I don't use it as much. I made it a deep habit. Join up if two organizations or groups of people join up, they start working together, or they meet in order to go somewhere or do something together. 2. Lash out to criticize someone or something in an angry way. 3. Match up to find someone or something that will be suitable for a particular person, activity or purpose. 4. Nod off to fall asleep when you do not intend to. 5. Open up to start to talk more about yourself and your feelings. Herb Tasker is looking for oil. His company, Great North Energy Inc., joined up with another oil drilling company to look for oil in the north. He was looking for a company that matched up with his company. He was getting frustrated because there were so many companies that he could not trust. He felt stressed and one day lashed out at his executive assistant when the assistant was suggesting there were no good companies. A day later, he apologized and began to open up with his assistant. Then they found a very good company and joined up for this drilling venture. Now Herb is in the north with his team and he feels so confident they will find what they are looking for that he might just nod off a bit after lunch.
