John's problem

by Suela
(Brazil)

In the last two months, at least once a week, John’s mother has got a phone call, complaining about his behavior in class. The last one, the teacher demanded her presence at school to talk it over. The teacher said to her that John did not get along with the other kids and that he has been impolite with her. She started crying and said: “His father left us four months ago, and since then I am trying to brighten him up, but day by day he is getting worse. He doesn’t even want to come to school. Realizing then what was happening, the teacher said: It come across to be a problem of affection deprivation. We have to work on it together, giving him all support he needs to overcome this problem.

Here is my edited version:

In the last two months, at least once a week,
John’s mother has got a phone call, complaining about his behavior in class.
In the last one, the teacher demanded her presence at school to talk it over.
The teacher said to her that John did not get along with the other kids and that he has been impolite with her.
John's mother started crying and said: “His father left us four months ago, and since then I am trying to brighten him up,
but day by day he is getting worse. He doesnt even want to come to school."
Realizing then what was happening, the teacher said,"It is coming across to me to be a problem of deprivation of affection.
We have to work on it together, giving him all the support he needs to overcome this problem."
