Have Fun With English:What Can You Do?![]() Are you sitting down to another boring session of English study? Don't! Have fun with English! I'm sure you know the scene: books and vocabulary, grammar and paper. This kind of study is uninspiring for all but the most dedicated students (or those filled with fear). So, how do you spruce up (enliven) your English study and have fun? 1. Get a study partner. Working with someone always makes is easier and more motivating to go to study. It brings in the social aspect of language, which is essential. 2. Study English right after physical exercise. Use the 'high' you get from exercising to help motivate you through your study routine. 3. Do something physical in your study routine. Acting out the language is one way. Play catch while you talk with a study partner is another. Do flashhcard circuits (put the flashcards on a table at the opposite end of the room so you and your partner have to go and get them before you can ask them to each other). This is a great way to have fun with english. 4. Do language races. Get a kitchen timer and time yourself while you practice your target language. Set time limits, or perhaps keep a record of how long it takes you to speak the target language. 5. Write a creative story in English. Really. Even if you aren't a creative person, try it. But try it ten times at least. Let your imagination run wild. Write stories with no ending. Or record them. This activity takes practice, but it gets more and more fun as you get better. I hope you use some of these ideas to have fun with English! It is John's Affair Verb List 1.
