An unexpected experience

by Suela

I have some friends with whom, once a year, I join up in order to take a trip. One time, we went to a beautiful tourist city in a mountain region. As a consequence of being so famous and so visited, in this city the hotels were very expensive, and we decided to stay over in a nearby city. We arrived in the hotel at night, did the check in, settled things down and went to a pizzeria. The night was nice and warm, and after eating, we stood there drinking , singing , making jokes, and having fun. When we saw that one of my friends started mixing things up and got completely dizzi, we realized that she was not used to drink. Then we decided to go back to the hotel. Entering to the hall we had to make up an excuse to the receptionist, since was not suitable that kind of behavior.
In the next morning six a.m, was still dark, when a strong sound of fireworks exploding, followed by ringing bells , woke up everyone. We soon realize what it was, since we could see the flash of the fireworks throught the window. On the back side of the hotel, in the bedroom where was my friend, that had got drunk the night before, she could not know what was happening, since she could not see the flash of the fireworks. She half asleep, crawled desperated to the other bed where was her roommate, screaming: let’s get away, let’s get away ; the air conditioner are going to blow up.
The hotel was very near to the church, being separeted from it only for a quite narrow street. On that day it was going to happen a big party in the church, to pay tribute to the patron saint. It was a tradition to wake up the city at six a.m, with fireworks, ringing the bells and, after about five minutes, starting playing the music Holy Mary (Gounod).
It was so wonderful and touching that my eyes filled of tears. But for my friend it was a scary experience. For the rest of the trip it was as the reason for many jokes as: Be careful! It’s going to blow up.

Here is my edited version:
